In this world there is only one thing worth having, and that is illumination. In order to have illumination, we must have sincerity and humility. 

Illumination is not something very far away. It is very close; it is just inside us. At every moment we can consciously grow into illumination through our inner progress. The highest illumination is God-realization. This illumination must take place not only in the soul, but also in the heart, mind, vital and body. God-realization is a conscious, complete and perfect union with God. When we enter into the Source of our own existence and the world's existence, we are approaching the reality. This reality is our constant Delight, and Delight is the Breath of God.

Illumination is the conscious awareness of the soul. Illumination is humanity's first realization of Baba's omnipotent power, boundless compassion, infinite Light and perfect Perfection. It is our illumination that makes us feel what Baba really is. Before illumination, Baba is theoretical; after illumination, Baba becomes practical.

When one is really illumined, one will not see others as imperfect or hopeless human beings. The moment one is illumined, he will feel his real oneness with others and he will see the so-called imperfections of others as an experience Baba is having in and through them.

Illumination is something which we had, but which we now have forgotten; it is not something totally new. One who really cares for illumination has to feel that he is growing from Light to more Light to abundant Light. 

Baba said "Unless a man feels disgusted with the things, emoluments and honors, which his actions would bring in this world and the next, he has no right to enter into the spiritual realm".

The Story of Padukas (foot-prints) under the Neem Tree 

A devotee of Akkalkot Maharaj by name Bhai Krishnaji Alibagkar worshipped the photo of Akkalkot Maharaj. He once thought of going to Akkalkot (Sholapur District), taking the darshana of the Padukas (foot-prints) of the Maharaj and offering his sincere worship there; but before he could go there, he got a vision in his dream. Akkalkot Maharaj appeared in the vision and said to him - "Now Shirdi is my resting place, go there and offer your Worship." So Bhai changed his plan and came to Shirdi, worshipped Baba, stayed there for six months and was happy. As a reminiscence of this vision etc., he prepared the Padukas and installed them on an auspicious day of Shravan, Shaka 1834 (1912 A.D.) under the Neem tree with due ceremonies and formalities, conducted by Dada Kelkar and Upasani. One Dixit Brahmin was appointed for worship, and the management was entrusted to devotee Sagun.

Question : In today’s age there are so many gurus around. How does one know if one has come across the true Guru.?

Answer :

Everybody is in search of a Guru, somewhere or other and so should it be. It is said in Guru Gita that the way a bee goes from flower to flower in search of honey, the aspirant should also go from one Guru to another. However, once he finds his Sadguru, then he should follow him with single mindedness. But, all Gurus are not necessarily ‘Sadgurus’. Sadgurus are those who are able to join the ‘Atma’ to ‘Parmatma’, and who has the capability to protect the devotee under all circumstances. There are very few Sadgurus on the earth. Once the Sadguru is met there remains no need to search for a Guru. One who aspires for a Sadguru must strive hard. Someday he will be able to draw the attention of the Sadguru towards himself. Thereafter, through some medium he will reach him or draw the disciple by his own inscrutable ways.

JAI SAI NATH !!!

About a couple of months ago, I visited the site of Saibaba.org and had placed a request to have a locket of his for myself and for my fiancée in the US. She received her locket the very next week and I didn't for the months that followed. I wasn't sure about whether I would receive it being herein India and as usual prayed to Baba each day and also started to read the Sai Satcharita a couple of weeks back. This week on the 12th of June I have my birthday and on Monday the 9th as to the start of the week, to my amazement and joys I received Baba's locket and blessings for me. There has never ever been a Gift as precious that I have received and am indebted to the Sadguru for blessing me to this opportune times. "the Lord works in mysterious ways" they say and I believe and place my Faith in him for to seek his blessings forever.
