Question :  I lost my husband to Leukemia about an year ago. My daughter and I prayed day and night to Sai to heal him and give him some more time. My husband was a good human being, a devoted father and husband, and a very religious man. He even endured, first heart disease and then leukemia with great patience and courage. Why was he made to suffer? Why our prayers were not answered? How can we replace emptiness created by his death with peace. 

Answer :

Before Baba left His body, devotees were requesting Him to continue. Baba told the truth that even He will have to leave the body one day. Any one born with a body will go one day. The method of departure is preordained because of past lives’ actions called “prarabdha” The ultimate answer can only be given by God. ‘karma prarabdha’ what scriptures say, is the reason for all sufferings. Further, a certain quantum of duty is given to a person within a certain period of time on this earth. Once that is over he has to go. When the body becomes useless, by whatsoever manner to do any job for the soul, the soul departs and enters another body fit to do such work. This law of nature works on the good, the bad, the religious, the nonbeliever and everyone.

To begin with I knew Baba right from my childhood. I remembered him every time during my difficulties but there was a certain phase in my life where I neglected my attention towards BABA though I did not forget him. But my Baba as usual proved me recently again that He never forgets us even though we tend to forget Him. Here goes my experience. 

I was concentrating on my career very seriously but there were always difficulties in my path. Though paying keen attention towards career, I never wanted to stay away from my spouse. I struggled a lot to get into local companies where I could stay along with my family. There were instances when I got far off opportunities buy still I left them only to live together. I had to waste few months like this as I never got into local ones for the first round. Then for the next round I applied to few local companies. But this time it was such a bad luck that all my colleagues with similar qualifications got the interview calls. But I did not get interview calls from both the local companies which I had expected. First rejection came as a shock, I was so frustrated with life that I took a vow in front of God that I will stop worshipping him if he does not show me an answer. Rejection from the 2nd one worsened my condition further. I cried loudly and pulled out the Jewel Sai Satcharitha from one of my shelves and started asking God... Why do you do like this? I want to get close to you and you pull me away and bad of all You do not even care whatever happens to my devotion to you. When I was thus crying I suddenly started looking at God's picture in the book and found that he was angry with me. I suddenly started uttering with lot of guilt feelings "God How can I forget you"... How did I do this to you? How can I be such a fool for not worshipping you since a week just for not granting my wish. Tears rolled down without my knowledge and then I realized that I should read the book to achieve peace of mind. And yes as somebody as said "Sai Satcharithra" is a solution to all our problems. 

I learnt from the book that what we face is the karma of all our past births and it is during this time we should hang on to GOD and all our difficulties will go off. I completed reading this precious jewel in a week and found immense peace. At that time situations were more or less proven that I will have to stay away from my spouse and thinking that I have to bear the fruit of my past deeds I started preparing mentally to stay away and I started looking into alternative far off companies. Few weeks passed and so the hope that I would get any interview calls from the local companies slowly faded away. The interview for the local company was on a specific date for all the selected candidates. The date was fast approaching and I did not have any hope. My wish was almost dead. Just 2 days before this interview date, as I was studying some subject. I thought I will take a short break and wanted to have puran polis. Also at that moment it struck to me that Sai devotees often offered him this and thus I too wanted to do the same to my Sai. As I was preparing them, all of a sudden I got a call from the local company that due to mass withdrawal I was being called for the interview too. My joy knew no bounds. I was so rejoiced that I came running to God's photo and did not even have any words to say before BABA. I did not even know how to thank him for this miracle. I immediately opened the book and to my surprise I found this words in the text highlighted as "Doubts and difficulties surround us, just to move us and confirm our FAITH. We are tested as it were. If we only hold on steadily to Baba, with full faith and continue our endeavors, our efforts will be ultimately crowned with success." I prepared for the interview under Baba's guidance and everything did go smoothly and right now I am waiting for the results. And I am sure I will win this time too all by Baba's GRACE. I just cannot forget the wonderful way he answered all my questions. He has given me so much of faith in him (I remember while typing this How I abused him of not bothering about my devotion towards him). He is responsible for all the change in my thinking. I cannot perform even a small thing without uttering His name. To all those who are in troubles, Difficulties surround but never stop saying SAI SAI. God I pray that this experience of mine helps the needy.
