Darkness without Guru |
Without a Guru we are in utter darkness. The
reality remains a mere miasma and a mirage. The glamour of the world is so great and overbearing that passing phantoms appear stable and substantial, the untrue puts on the mantle of Truth, and we cannot possibly tear aside the magic veil and escape from the false charm in which we are enveloped. It is the Master's Grace that can pull a spirit out of the physical sheath right above the plane of
senses.
A jiva is always in stark darkness. If he closes his eyes, there is darkness within. Again, he is enveloped in total ignorance. He who can dispel this darkness of jivas is called a Guru. The term Guru consists of two words: Gu meaning darkness and Ru meaning Light. Hence Guru means one who can lead us from darkness to Light, from untruth to Truth, and from death to
immortality. The nails of the Guru's feet shine like a crest jewel in the head of a toad that shines forth like a flashlight in darkness.
To succeed on "Spiritual Path", we must find One who has
explored it to its utmost limits. A Living Master is an
indispensable need, and an indispensable means to the attaining of
Self-Realisation. On the purely physical level, He serves as a
living example of a Perfect Life. He tells us of our True Home and
the way that leads to it. On the spiritual side He gives us details
of the inner Path, its intricacies and difficulties, provides His
Attention with an actual experience of withdrawal from the body and
of the inner Light and Sound, and guides us through the more
difficult part of our inner journey until we reach our Goal.

Don’t jump steps. The first, step is to protect yourself without harming any one. Love should be spontaneous without any conditions. Don’t give up your good qualities because others are bad. You will ultimately win.

I won't say I was an ardent sai devotee like many others, but I did believe in His powers since I am a
religious -minded person by nature.
I got married and came to the US a year back and the loneliness
combined with certain other factors killed me day and night. Since I am an alien I could not work here, and I am someone who cannot just be idle all the time. Even short term courses to keep myself occupied did not
materialize for some reason. My mental state was getting worse day by day. I feared I would go into a depression.
Sai drew me towards Him without even me knowing that I am being drawn to Him. One day while talking to a friend, I came to know that there was a SaiCenter nearby. So we started going there. I got a few books from there, about the devotees experiences. I also started visiting the site shirdibaba.org and read many experiences. Lord Sai started coming in my dream and showed how compassionate and powerful He is.
In one such column, a devotee had mentioned how reading SaiSatCharitra fulfilled her wish. I was inspired by her experience and prayed to God Sai that if I pass an exam and get certified before I complete reading all the chapters of Saisatcharitra, I would publish that under "devotees experience" column in this site. I sincerely prayed to Him that at least one devotee should get inspired and get drawn towards Him by reading my experience.
Sairam. It is indeed a miracle if someone like me, who does not have the required background, could complete a certification
(recognized world -wide) in just 2 months without any coaching from anyone. And there are still about 5 chapters to be read in the SaiSatcharitra. Yes. Even after the exam, while waiting for the result, I was not confident about my score. I prayed to Him ardently and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my score. Sharing this with you is the first thing I am doing after I came back from the exam.
