Annadanam Service

The most important issue in one's life is about food to eat. It constitutes one of the basic needs of human kind. It is very sad to know that some people cannot afford even to fulfill this basic need.  Shri Sainath said, "Know for certain that he who feeds the hungry, really serves Me with food. Regard this as an axiom truth". (Shri Sai Satcharita). Keeping that tradition alive, Shirdi Sai Baba Sanstha, Chicago will be performing annadanam service to the needy at various venues during the month. Please click here for more info.

Message for the Week : Perfect Master

The life and conduct of a Perfect Master single Him out as a unique personality apart from the rest of mankind.

He is always a bestower of gifts and never a recipient. He never wishes for the slightest service from His following. He earns His own living and is never a burden upon anyone. All His personal savings, if any, He spends on the relief of the needy. He does not charge any fees for imparting spiritual instructions. On the contrary, He bestows spirituality as a free gift like any other gift of God, such as light, air, water and so forth.

He is a living embodiment of humility. With all His powers and greatness co-equal with God, He never claims credit for anything, but attributes everything to God or to His own Master. Like a fruit-laden branch of a tree, He bows to the lowest, and moves about in simple dignity peculiar to Him alone. He who regards himself as the lowest is in fact the highest.

He is at peace with all and is angry with none. He smilingly forgives all who talk ill of Him, and does not pick flaws in others. His love embraces all humanity. Purity, Godliness and Spirituality flow from Him like shining springs of cool and refreshing waters, bringing life to the parched and and hearts of the aspirants who joyfully move along the Spiritual Path under His able guidance. Baba never preached in this regard, He radiated such influence that absorbed the impure tendencies and prepared the aspirant to keep himself chaste, pure, simple and upright, so as to be fit to receive His Grace.

He does not wear any conspicuous form of dress. He adopts just an easy middle path. His Grand Trunk Road bypasses austerities on the one hand, and forms and formalities on the other. His teaching consists of enunciating natural truths which sink into the soul, and everyone irrespective of sex and age can practice the spiritual discipline enjoined by Him.

He never believes in, nor performs miracles for attracting people and gaining their credence, as a juggler would do. He keeps his treasures well concealed in the deepest recesses within Him. He may, if necessity demands, make use of His powers on some special occasion. The disciples, of course, everyday feel the hidden hand of the Master working for their welfare and advancement.

Baba never performed miracles. They occur spontaneously. The Perfect Masters generally do not create miracles, God creates miracles for them - (Guruji Shri C.B.Satpathy).

His undertaking is unending till He takes all his lost sheep back home.

Baba Said....

"Company of Saints increases our non-attachment to sense objects, and makes us quite indifferent to pleasures and pains, and leads us onward on the spiritual path".

Question of the Week...Devotees Asked...Guruji Answered
Question :  Baba’s messages always tell us that there should be no ego. Ego is a destroyer and kills the spiritual progress of a person. This is fully understandable. But, there are so many instances in day to  day working in the commercial life where one has to use his ego to establish his style of working or to create a positive result-oriented fear.

One thing is certain that truth is only in what Baba says but I am not able to relate this to the above.

Answer :

Ego can both be creative and destructive. By ego the biggest things are created on earth and also destroyed. To become egoless is the highest state. Baba has spoken the ultimate word what He Himself is. We, at a much lower level of evolution can only try by taking His name. While doing a job where ego is necessary one should, still be careful not to have ego that is not essentially required. Understanding the nature of one’s own ego and then using it in the positive direction will not make a person the slave of his own ego.

Devotee's Experience :

Contributed by Sarath Chandra

Dear Devotee friends,

Today was the judgment day. I was awaiting the results of gate examination,2003. Last year I wrote the exam but could not make it into any good institution. Against a lot of peoples advice I decided to go for it a second time. Every thing, my honor, self respect, ego & what ever you can name were at stake. I have been trying to check my results online since morning but could not get connected to the site. So my anxiety was at its peak. Just now I got connected to the site & before pressing enter I logged in to this site & I was literally shaking while I awaited the result. The only moral strength I got is from the experiences of other devotees & this sweet chant "Om Sri Sai Nathaiah Namah" going on in the background. The result came I passed in a very good percentile & for the first time in life I came to know what weeping in happiness means.

Thank you friends & Thanx to the almighty.
