Message
for the Week : The
Master
- A True Friend |
The relationship of the Master and the disciple is unique in character and we find no parallel to it on earth. While all worldly connections and ties are more or less tainted by selfishness, the relation between the Master and the disciple is purely one of selfless love.
Just for the sake of analogy, we may consider the love of a mother for her child. An infant at birth is just a mere helpless mass of tender flesh and bones. He cannot express himself and his needs, nor can he look after himself, but the mother takes tender care of the tiny piece of humanity. She attends to his every need and looks after his comforts. In his happiness lies her happiness and in his sorrow she feels distressed. Day and night she tirelessly works for the child's welfare and does not consider any sacrifice too great. She denies herself everything so that her child may have all that she can afford to give and is ready even to lay down her life for his sake.
As the infant grows, he begins to imbibe his mother's love. The kindly rays of love pass from eyes to eyes. In mute language he begins his first lessons in love. Gradually, the toddler is taught to speak, at first in broken syllables, and the mother's delight knows no bounds at every success in her endeavors, until he grows big enough to look after himself.
In exactly the same way, when a person is accepted by the Master he takes a second birth, as it were, into the Master's house. He comes into the Master's fold full of worldly attachments and dyed deep in the darkest shades of mind and matter. He is so identified with his body and bodily relations that he can never think that he is something apart from them.
With his birth in the Master's house, the Master takes upon Himself an immense load of responsibility. By individual instructions and attention, He gradually weans the jiva from sense pleasures. He tells the disciple that he is neither body nor mind nor intellect, but something more glorious - soul or spirit - and has been endowed by Nature with various faculties to serve a high purpose in life. By spiritual discipline, the Master enables him to free his mind of mental oscillations. Now he develops a state of equipoise, and with it he begins to evaluate life from a different angle. His entire outlook is changed and a consciousness of spirit dawns in him.

Baba
Said.... |
"If
persons, believing in Him, listen to His leelas, their quest
for milk-(darshana) will be, to a great extent, satisfied by
the butter-milk (Leelas)".
|
From...Shri
Sai Satcharitra |
Shri
Sai Satcharitra
is a discourse on the experiences devotees had with Shri Sai
and the preachings of Baba. Baba got it written through Shri
Anna Saheb Dhabhlkar by giving inner motivation to him. Baba
had clearly told him: "I Myself write my own life.
Hearing My stories and teachings will create faith in
devotees' hearts and they will easily get self-realisation and
bliss...." (Shri Sai Satcharitra, Chapter 2)
The
significance of Shri Sai Satcharitra is:
-
This is
the first and foremost book based on the life-story of
Shri Sai Baba, which was originally composed in Marathi
verse form. The writing of the book started in the
lifetime of Baba with His blessings.
-
This has
been translated into many Indian languages and English
language, which can be understood even by a common man.
-
The
Divine Truth imparted by this book is even greater than
the knowledge contained in the Vedas and Gita, because
all the characters and events in it are real and
authentic and have been recorded in detail by many
devotees.
-
The
spiritual essence contained in all the religious
scriptures like Vedas, Gita and Yoga Vashisht is found
in the life-story of Shri Sainath.
-
The
concepts of God and spirituality are explained in such a
simple yet comprehensive manner in Shri Sai Satcharitra,
that no additional book or commentary is required to
understand it. It has a natural flow whereby the readers
start feeling as if they had been closely associated
with its events in their past lives.
-
The glory
of Shri Sai is spreading in the world, far and wide, in
such a way that detailed information about Shri Sai Baba
is available through many web sites on Internet and
through Shri Sai Satcharitra.
-
The
foremost duty of Sai devotees is therefore to read Shri
Sai Satcharitra and absorb it into their beings
completely. The more they read this book, the more it
will bring them closer to Baba and all their doubts and
apprehensions will be cleared. It also has been
experienced that during a crisis, if any devotee
searching for an answer, if he randomly opens Shri Sai
Satcharitra, praying to Baba sincerely and with faith,
his answer can be found in that open page. Many people
have got their desired benefits after reading Shri Sai
Satcharitra for a week in paraayana form.

Question
of the Week...Devotees Asked...Guruji Answered
|
Question
: Who is God ?
Answer
:
This is a question the entire humanity on this earth has been trying to understand since the time immemorial. Yet nobody can exactly say who is God. Even the greatest spiritual leaders in world, the Vedas and other religious scriptures have admitted their limitation. Seers try to understand God from his manifested aspects - both living (Sakara) and non-living (Nirakara). After realising the manifested aspects like the stars, planets, living and non-living beings they get into the non-manifested (Nirakara)
aspects of God to certain extent. It is said that God has manifested only one-fourth of His energy and that three-fourth of God’s energy is not manifested. How then to understand the three-fourth non-manifested God is the question when the entire Humanity has not been able to understand even the one-fourth manifestation?

Experience : Experienced Darshan / Omnipresence |
Contributed
by Sastry
Dhavala
I went to Vietnam in October 2000, on a construction job in Pha Lai, a town about 60km away from Hanoi the Capital. After 2years of working there my assignment reached the final phase. Though it was difficult to estimate the exact span of time for completing the balance job, another 4 to 5 months was about the approximate period. At this stage, one day I got a
severe headache. Assuming that this was a passing ailment, as happened throughout my stay there when I used to get headache now and then, the frequency of this being once in three to four months, I took a Saridon and went to bed. On earlier
occasions the pain used to vanish completely on taking the tablet and I used to feel perky for months thereafter. But
this time on taking Saridon the headache subsided only temporarily and returned in the morning on my waking up.
As per the impression of Indians staying there medical facilities in Vietnam were very costly and besides being not reliable. If there was no emergency Indians in Vietnam would normally prefer to wait for their return to India to get any medical tests done. My headache which was severe continued for about 15days without any indication of subsiding. Then suddenly I
realized that the pain was concentrated near my left ear which was operated 12years ago for infection causing ear pain and secretion of fluids. I was afraid that I might have to go back to India immediately for medical check up and treatment, as operation of the
ear, to be done if needed was a critical one and one could not risk making a trial in Vietnam. Return to India then meant discontinuation of my employment there.
That day before going to bed I prayed to Baba to help me. Miraculously when I woke up in the morning I found that my headache was gone. And it did not recur through the balance period of my stay there until the completion of my assignment.
I am expecting now to go to Iran shortly on another assignment with the same employer. I pray to Sai Bhagwan to see that my new assignment starts at an early convenient date. I also pray to Baba to please travel with me to Iran, stay with me there, see that I complete my assignment successfully and on completion of my work, travel back home with me.
