Message for the Week : Aspiration & Desire

It is most important for us to try to develop a genuine hunger for Baba's love, Baba's compassion and Baba's blessings. There are two ways to increase one's inner hunger. One way is to cry for Baba like a helpless child crying for his mother. The other way is to offer one's actions to Baba while keeping a cheerful attitude. With both these ways the seeker will make real inner progress.

Desire is a wild fire that burns and burns and finally consumes us. Aspiration is a glowing flame that secretly and sacredly uplifts our consciousness and finally liberates us. Thirst for the Highest is aspiration. Thirst for the lowest is annihilation. Desire is expectation. No expectation, no frustration. With desire killed, true happiness is built. Aspiration is surrender. Surrender is man's conscious oneness with Baba's Will.

We aspire through proper concentration, proper meditation and proper contemplation. Aspiration covers both meditation and prayer. There were many saints who did not care for meditation; they realized God through prayer. He who is praying feels he has an inner cry to realize Baba, and he who is meditating also feels the need to bring Baba's Consciousness right into his being. The difference between prayer and meditation is this: when we pray, we talk and Baba listens; and when we meditate, Baba talks and we listen.

We are a seeker. When we pray, concentrate and meditate, we have to feel that each second is infinitely more important than we thought it was previously, before we entered into the spiritual life. This second we can use either for meditation or for gossip or for cherishing impure and undivine thoughts.

When we consciously aspire in all parts of our being, we will be able to accelerate the achievement of liberation.

Baba Said....

Baba said "Those who take refuge in the lord will be freed from her (Maya) clutches. with His grace.

Let us know Baba

Dear Readers,

During last two weeks, we have introduced the significance of Shri Sai Satcharitra and how to utilize Shri Sai Satcharitra. Going forward, we will be organizing Question-Answer Forum called...Let us know Baba  based on Shri Sai Satcharitra. The objective of this service is to encourage one and all to read and understand Shri Sai Satcharitra. Devotees are requested to actively participate in this and send their answers. The answers can be sent to LetUsKnowBaba

May Shri Sainath reveal the divine knowledge and mysteries contained in this book to the devotees in the same manner in which He had inspired Hemadpant to write this Holy Book.

Now the question of the week:

"Which incident (and its significance) inspired Shri Hemad Pant to write Baba's Life - The Satcharitra"

This question is based on Chapter 1 in Shri Sai Satcharitra.

Do you know this: "During the times, when Baba was present in His physical body at Shirdi, a thief was arrested with stolen jewellery and brought before the magistrate's court in neighboring town of Dhulia. The thief admitted the plea that Sai Baba had given him the jewels and the court issued summons to Baba. Some influential devotees gathered together drew up a petition to the effect that one who was worshipped by a vast following ought not to be summoned to a law court and praying that a commissioner should be sent to Shirdi to take down evidence, Click here to read the statement given by Baba to commissioner"

Question of the Week...Devotees Asked...Guruji Answered
Question : How do we understand the existence and form of God?

Answer :

God is present in the millions and innumerable energy forms. He is present in every particle of the whole universe in gross, subtle and energy forms. His manifested form is the Universe. On the basis of the principle of Vyasthi and Samashti, whatever is there in every part of the Nature is also there in the Whole, and whatever is there in the Whole is also present in its part. In every star there is a Vishnu and in Sun there is Narayan. We propitiate the sun by calling it ‘Surya Narayan’. In every Universe the energy is flowing from two specific terminals, which is continuously creating the organic matter and vital force. When we say Vishnu and Mahavishnu, Deva and Mahadeva, Ganapati and Mahaganpati, Shiva and Sadashiva
The same is implied in it. Infact, the form of God is in limited as well as unlimited both.

Experienced Darshan / Omnipresence

Contributed by Anand

Om Sri Sainadh Namah.

Fortnight ago I visited Shirdi. I was carrying a shawl, sweets and guava as offerings to dear Baba. As per the custom, the shawl was placed over Baba's samadhi and returned to me, which I deposited in the office. Sweet was also offered but not the guavas, since there were many devotees waiting for the darshan and security personnel were pushing people around. But deep within I was feeling that I should place the fruit on the samadhi as Baba is very fond of this fruit.

But to my disappointment I couldn't do my offering of guavas. After coming out of the Samadhi Mandir, I went around GuruSthan. After coming out I saw that bag having guavas is missing!! Rest of the things are in my hand but only the guava bag is missing. However tried I couldn't recollect where I placed or who took that bag.

But the joy I felt in that moment can not be described. I felt my Baba accepted my offerings. Have no doubt, Baba knows his devotees well and takes care of them at all the times.

Jai Sai Ram.
